With all of Italy currently on lockdown, every single bar and restaurant in Trieste has been closed. Supermarkets and some markets remain open with limited working hours but everything is closed on Sundays. Respecting the quarantine and staying inside is possible as there are several options for staying well-fed with food delivery in Trieste. 

There are multiple food delivery options in Trieste, and many restaurants have chosen to create their own home delivery services in light of unprecedented times. In terms of groceries, you can also have these arrive at your doorstep to minimize outside contact. Paying in advance via online is always recommended.

Meal Delivery

These food services will drop food off directly at your home. Order using the apps or web-based services and pay directly online. 

Uber Eats: This can be used with your regular Uber account, so no need for a new app. Some of the best options include Hamerica’s, Pizzeria Mangiafuoco and Sax Pub.

Just Eat: This is one of the most popular food delivery apps in Trieste so there are lots of choices. Among them: Take Sushi (for your Japanese fix) and La Casa del Panino 3 (also for lunch).

Deliveroo: This is one of our go-to food delivery apps even in normal times because of the wide range of small restaurants included on the platform. Grocery Delivery

There are several services that normally offer grocery delivery in Trieste that have been fairly overwhelmed during the lockdown. Expect long wait times: you may be ordering for delivery that is more than a week out. You may want to consider leaving these services available for those who need them most, including elderly neighbors. It is also usually possible to speak to your local alimentari (small food shops) to arrange direct delivery depending on the exact area that you live in.

PAM: They will carry all your groceries up to your door. This is a huge plus if you want to order something like bottled water or other liquids that are heavy to cart back home without a car.

Conad: This is a popular grocery chain with locations throughout Trieste. You can order online for direct delivery to your house for a small fee.

Centro Discount: Good prices and free delivery to your door.

Biolife Trieste: They delivery right to your door Monday- Friday. Place the order before noon to receive it the same day by 7 pm.
