From too many people out on the streets to too few masks wearers, have Triestini really understood the almost deliberately vague and multi-interpretational rules offered to us by the government?

The director of SISSA (International School for Advanced Studies) Stefano Russo in one of his recent interviews underlined that the beginning of the second phase was completely unprepared. He underlined that there has been no real plan of action, but just the so-called governmental suggestions.

Stefano Russo underlined that both the molecular and the serological tests have been insufficient. Moreover, there has been no real isolation strategy for the Covid-positive patients. Russo highlighted that the scientific community of Trieste showed willingness in analyzing the data already two months ago and only in the recent days there has been a slight improvement.

But what rules are we to follow?

In his interview with Telequattro on Friday the rector of University of Trieste Roberto Lenarda said “I don’t go out a lot as I think it’s important to stay at home these days. But when I do go out, I see a lot of people walking without masks on the streets – and that is a crucial mistake”, he told the viewers. “It’s a crucial mistake (or errore grave) to wear the mask in a wrong way or not to wear it at all as the future of this pandemic is in our hands and in our habits today”.

He finished his speech by saying that if everyone wore masks and kept at least 1 meter distance, the end of the pandemic would be much closer.
