Today most bars, cafes, shops and restaurants downtown Trieste have reopened their doors to the public. Trieste’s mayor Roberto Dipiazza was beaming with pride as he walked around Trieste this morning. “Dai che ce la facciamo!” he said smiling to the camera, which can be roughly translated as “We will make this happen!”
On the first day of the official reopening of most commercial activities in the city of Trieste, the mayor paid a visit to some major cafes and buffets in town: Caffè Degli Specchi and Buffet da Pepi as seen in the video posted on his Facebook page earlier today.
“It’s a day of great happiness for the city of Trieste,” said Dipiazza “We have reopened! It seems surreal to see Piazza Unità full of people again and Caffè Degli Specchi and all the other bars reopened. We will make this happen!”
He finished his speech by reminding everyone to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
