On Monday, My 18th Italy took another significant step in restarting its economy after more than two months of lockdown, with the reopening of restaurants, bars, shops, hairdressers and beauty salons, all under strict health regulations.
What are the general rules for these businesses?
The general guidelines for commercial businesses recommend to wear a mask at all times, wash hands often, maintain social distance, book when possible and keep client’s names for at least 14 days after their visit.
Restaurants and bars are not allowed to offer buffet, and wearing a mask is mandatory for clients not seated at the table as well as for the staff.
At the beach ten square meters between parasols are a must, sun beds and loungers are to be disinfected after each client.
Hair and beauty salons must limit the number of customers, who will be required to maintain a minimum distance of two meters between each other, with frequent disinfection of all areas and equipment. The wearing of face masks in hair salons and beauty parlours – by both staff and customers – is obligatory, with the guidelines stating that staff training is “fundamental” for individual protection measures.
Clothing shops are to offer gloves to be worn at all times.
At the gym 2 meters distance between customers is mandatory.
Strict guidelines remain in place in Italy, from social distancing to the obligation to wear masks in closed spaces and on public transport, along with a ban on gatherings.
