Trieste’s Beaches Reopen With New Anti-contagion Rules

The agreement between Comune di Trieste and FVG Region has finally been reached about the rules of beach-going in Trieste this summer.

Commune di Trieste announced on Friday that new rules include:

  • One meter (only) between beach towels (relatives excluded)
  • No masks while swimming or sunbathing
  • One meter and a half between sun loungers
  • In lidos, each beach umbrella must have a space of ten square metres
  • All beach equipment is to be sanitized after each customer
  • Customers are to wear masks when not swimming or sunbathing
  • Gatherings and group sports/activities are prohibited

Summer mecca of many a Triestino Pedocin will reopen on June 1st and will accept limited number of visitors (around 500). There will be two shifts: 7.30 am to 12.30 on and 1 pm to 7.30 pm. During that half hour the beach will be sanitized. The entrance cost will remain 1 euro per person.
