Italian government’s decision to insert Friuli Venezia Giulia into the orange zone starting 15 November was met with indignation by the local FVG government.
President Fedriga, whose new decree came in force on Saturday, November 14 and lasted exactly one day, called the government’s decision “senseless”.
Trieste’s mayor Dipiazza was embittered underlying it was just “a political game”, hinting that since Tuscany and Lombardy, both governed by the left-wing political party, were moved into the red zone, FVG, which is governed by the right-wing party, became the scapegoat and got the “orange label”.
The secretary general of the left-wing PD party in FVG, Cristiano Shaurli, wrote, “It is necessary to give clear and unambiguous information to citizens, the doctors ask for it and the situation requires it. Enough with street demonstrations against closures: we must all commit ourselves and have consequent behaviors to avoid other closures. We all have to commit ourselves to give the necessary health responses to the many families who are still worried and disoriented.”
