First Italians to get Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine in Friuli Venezia Giulia were a doctor, a nurse and a social health worker at the Protezione Civile (Civil Defense) headquarters in Pamanova on Sunday, December 27.

“This one’s for the history books,” said president of FVG Massimiliano Fedriga early Sunday morning. “Let’s hope this will bring us that much closer to putting an end to the pandemic in our region and in our country.”

The 56,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine are expected to be delivered to Friuli Venezia Giulia region by the beginning of January destined for the 28,000 medical workers, ANSA reports.

“The light is coming but we have to hold out for a few more months. It’s not over yet and we still need to respect the rules,” added president Fedriga.
