In addition to regular testing options, fast-result COVID-19 tests will be conducted in pharmacies across the region, FVG Health Minister Riccardo Riccardi confirmed on Wednesday, 2 February.

People living in Friuli Venezia Giulia will be able to get rapid swabs in pharmacies to detect possible COVID-19 infections, without any need of a medical prescription.

“Serological tests are already conducted in pharmacies in some regions”, said FVG’s health minister, adding that “we will look into extending that possibility to quick COVID-19 tests too”.

The tests will be available across the region starting March and will cost 26 euros. Everyone can book a test directly with his/her local pharmacist and appointments will be given approximately every 15 minutes.

People who get the tests are required to not show any Covid symptoms and give their personal data to be registered into a database where the information is collected by regional health authorities.
