Diego Degrassi, an owner of a shoe repair store up in San Giovanni neighborhood, invited locals to donate to those in need to help repair their shoes.

“We already got a couple of hundred euros”, said Diego “But knowing Triestini we are going to get a lot more.”

“Tacco sospeso” initiative is a recollection of the well-known “caffè sospeso”, or suspended coffee where the people all over Italy paid for two coffees- one for themselves, and one for the bartender or a stranger to enjoy.

“It’s a simple, anonymous act of generosity,” said Mr. Degrassi “I understand how important wearing comfortable shoes is. It’s an essential need that no one should miss.”

You can find his shop in via San Cilino in San Giovanni neighborhood.
