The first train connecting Vienna to Trieste via Austrian Southern Railway will depart this Friday, 11 June at 7:58 am to arrive in Trieste at 4:52 pm.
The Austrian Southern Railway is a 577.2 km long double track-railway, which linked Vienna with Trieste, former main seaport of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, by railway for the first time in 1857.
A little less than two hundred years later, the connection has been reestablished. The train from Vienna will make a stop in Graz, Maribor and Ljubljana before arriving at its final destination, Trieste.
The Eurocity train will depart Trieste at 1.03 pm to arrive in Vienna at 10:02 pm.
