Welcome to the Summer 2021 print edition of In Trieste

Locals say that there’s nothing better than a summer’s day in Trieste. With this
issue we decided to take this thought even further and say – there’s nothing
better than summer in Trieste.
Originally this issue was going to be the spring one – anticipation, psyche, and
energy were high. Then the closures happened, again. This summer, as businesses
are starting to timidly open up, we thought we’d take you on the adventure
of what a Triestine straw-hat season in times of normalcy is really like.
We’ll begin with our cover, which perfectly captures our city’s summer mood, and
is illustrated by the multitalented Gio Alberti. Next, we’ll take you on the beach
adventure in the “Al Bagno” article by Helena, we’ll teach you how to order coffee
like a local and make you question the melancholic title of Trieste in Victor’s
piece. You’ll meet local entrepreneurs, scientists, poets and writers. And so much
more.
