It might still be vacation time for many Triestini, but the mayoral campaign is well on its way in our city. This Thursay, 19 August, Trieste’s Green party set up a table on the tram tracks, in hope of attracting attention to our city’s iconic tram situation.
The tram hasn’t been repaired since the accident in 2016 “despite endless promises by the current government” underlined the head of Europa Verde party, Tiziana Cimolino.
Cimolino, who is running to become the mayor of Trieste in the upcoming fall elections, is no stranger to flashmobs as the tram tracks lunch en plein air follows a successful “aperitivo” on via Giulia a couple of weeks ago.

“Many promises but little action” said Cimolino criticising the present government. “It’s a real shame for our city who loves its historical tram. We are here to remind our voters that change is possible.”
Cimolino is one of the few female candidates in the upcoming mayoral elections and is put forward by Europa Verde party.
