Piazza Unità as well as other downtown streets were under water after flash floods hit Friuli Venezia-Giulia’s capital on Thursday.

Many streets downtown Trieste turned into rivers for a couple of hours on Thursday, 15 September.
The flooding, part of a wave of violent storms hitting regions across Italy, has led to various traffic jams across the city.

Civil Protection has warned Trieste locals about another possibility of heavy showers later on this Friday, 16 September.
