Three days from 11 to 13 October in Sala Lutazzi (Porto Vecchio) will be dedicated entirely to Trieste’s team sports, through documentaries and talks with famous local athletes.
Guido Roberti, one of the organizers of the event said: “We are excited to present this event together with Comune di Trieste, an event that unites culture, sport and cinema in Porto Vecchio, a week after the Barcolana.”
Roberti added that “11 October will open with team sports. There are 56 sport clubs which celebrate the city of Trieste, from baseball which landed in TS through Americans,to American football”. The first day will be followed by the showing of documentaries about the history of sport in Trieste.
“Sport is the way of life and there’s no other place like Trieste to support any athletic activity. We are excited to present this event which- we hope- will bring back the joy to Triestini. Athletic activity has enormous value to younger people as well as elderly citizens,” said Giorgio Rossi.
Dario Roccavini, one of the organizers said that “Trieste is getting back the attention it deserves and this is one of those events that reminds us how important our city is. This convention will see many famous athletes of Trieste, and associations from baseball to hockey, talk about their life-long passions. Special attention will be given to female athletes and their enormous achievements in various disciplines.”
