Amerigo Vespucci Ship Docks in Trieste

Italian Navy school ship “Amerigo Vespucci” is docked on a pier of the port of Trieste after its arrival to celebrate the start of the 54th edition of the world largest regatta “The Barcolana”, which will gather some 1800 vessels in the gulf of Trieste this Sunday, 9 October.

Everyone is now able to admire the ‘most beautiful ship in the world‘ live. The Navy sailing ship Amerigo Vespucci, built in 1931 for the purpose of training naval academy cadets, is docked in Trieste for the weekend of Barcolana.

Everyone is able to admire this Italian craftsmanship and engineering excellence from the outside. You can also follow guided visits on board: all you have to do is patiently stand in line.

Amerigo Vespucci will announce the beginning of Barcolana regatta on Sunday, 10.30 am.
