Trieste celebrates its patron saint’s day on Thursday, 3 November, by opening all of the local museums to public for free. Here’s the list of the museums participating and their opening hours.
Hostrical and Artistic Museums
Civico Museo Revoltella – Via Diaz, 27 – closed 1 and 2 November in the preparation of the exhibit opening «La scultura nelle raccolte del Museo Revoltella da Canova al XXI secolo» – Opens at 1 pm on 3 November, and will stay open until 9 pm (this Thursday only).
Civico Museo d’Antichità J. J. Winckelmann – Via della Cattedrale, 15 – 10 am – 5 pm. Free entrance.
Civico Museo Sartorio – Largo Papa Giovanni XXIII, 1 – 10 am – 5 pm. Free entrance.
Civico Museo d’Arte Orientale – Via San Sebastiano, 1 – 10 am – 5 pm. Free entrance.
Civico Museo Teatrale “Carlo Schmidl” – Via Rossini, 4 – 10 am – 5 pm. Free entrance on Thursday. On other days 4,00 euro.
Civico Museo del Castello di San Giusto / Armeria e Lapidario Tergestino al Bastione Lalio – Piazza della Cattedrale 3 – 10 am – 5 pm. Free entrance on Thursday. On other days 5,00 euro.
Civico Museo di Guerra per la Pace “Diego de Henriquez” – Via Cumano, 22-24 – 10 am – 5 pm. Free entrance on Thursday. On other days 3,00 euro. Together with the entrance to the Civico Museo di Storia Naturale the entrance ticket will cost 5,00 euro. Free on Thursday.
Civico Museo della Risiera di San Sabba – Monumento Nazionale – Via Giovanni Palatucci, 5 – 9 am – 5 pm. Free entrance on Thursday.
Centro di Documentazione della Foiba di Basovizza – Monumento Nazionale – Loc. Basovizza – 10 am – 6 pm. Free entrance on Thursday.
Scientific Museums
Civico Museo di Storia Naturale – Via dei Tominz, 4 – 10 am – 5 pm. Free entrance on Thursday. On other days 3,00 euro. Together with the entrance to the Civico Museo di Guerra per la Pace “Diego de Henriquez” the ticket will cost 5,00 euro.
Civico Museo del Mare – Sezione Lloyd – Magazzino 26, Porto Vecchio Trieste – 10 am – 5 pm. Free entrance on Thursday
