Lucia Varlotta is an American expat living in Trieste since early 2022. She was born and raised in a coastal town in California before moving to Chicago for university. She has since focused her career on communications and digital marketing at a range of different businesses including advertising agencies, tech start-ups and tourism boards. Her family roots in Trieste drew her back to the city with her Italian husband. She’s passionate about great food, outdoor adventures, and discovering hidden gems in Trieste and across Italy. You can usually find her with her nose in a book and a cold spritz in her hand at Caffè degli Specchi.
