“There are over 200,000 entries registered by PromoTurismoFVG on the ski slopes of Friuli Venezia Giulia during the Christmas holidays, from December 23rd to January 7th. In the slopes of Forni di Sopra/Sauris, Piancavallo, Sappada/Forni Avoltri, Sella Nevea, Tarvisio and Ravascletto/Zoncolan the number of skiers grew an average of 26 percent compared to last year, with 42,000 more people choosing the regional facilities,” said the regional councilor for tourism, Sergio Emidio Bini.

“A clear sign of the touristic attractiveness of our territory – remarked Bini -, the result of targeted investments and careful valorization of the mountain slopes. This year we decided to focus on the quality of the slopes and on highly competitive prices, the lowest of all time. A strategy widely rewarded by tourists, both in ski pass terms (grown by 26 per cent during the Christmas period compared to 2021) “.

The mountain slopes will host the competitions of the Festival of European Youth Winter Olympics, Eyof 2023, in program from 21 to 28 January. “In less than two weeks, Eyof will turn the international spotlight on the mountains of FriulinVenezia Giulia, bringing thousands of young talents to the region. Already last week our slopes were baptized by the Italian champions of the national team of alpine skiing, Marta Bassino and Federica Brignone, who have chosen the Friuli Venezia Giulia region for their training. Eyof 2023 will be a great occasion to demonstrate the beauty and high-level offer of our mountains, in a cross-border and European context,” added Bini.
