A gala tribute to the great Rudolph Nureyev will take center stage at the Rossetti tonight, 13 January, at 8.30 pm.
“Homage in dance to an icon of twentieth-century ballet: the Dance Gala “Homage to Nureyev” arrives at the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia with the most beautiful choreographies and pas de deux that the great dancer created and danced in the great repertoire . An appointment not to be missed on Friday 13 January at 8.30 pm at the Politeama Rossetti”.
Rudolf Nureyev is an icon, an artist who still remains unmatched, he marked an era in the history of dance from an interpretative and creative points of view.
A company made up of artists of great prestige, soloists and principal dancers on the international scene pays him homage in a Gala dedicated to his art and his great choreographies, distributed by the Rudolf Nureyev Association, which has already been greatly acclaimed at the Sferisterio of Macerata and the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan.
At the Politeama Rossetti the show arrives on Friday 13 January starting at 20.30.
Nureyev’s choreography has been able to breathe new life into the classics of the repertoire, revitalizing them with a perfect balance between modernity and tradition. And his contribution to dance has ensured a major boost to the development of male dance. His remarkable charisma together with extraordinary technical skills made him an absolute point of reference right from the start and still today, for contemporary classical dancers.
Born in Russia in 1938 Rudolf Nureyev was trained in Leningrad, at the Kirov Ballet School and given his talent he immediately joined the company. During a tour in Paris in 1961 he asked for political asylum.
He entered the “Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas” starting from there an international career that led him to be a protagonist in contexts of absolute prestige: among these is the Royal Ballet where he was a permanent guest artist, dancing unforgettable choreographies with Margot Fonteyn.
Nureyev has been able to motivate many young promises to the passion for dance and the search for technical perfection, who today, enriched by his precious artistic baggage, pay him homage.
Viktor Ishchuk, Ilona Kravchenko, Tatiana Lezova, Yaroslavl Tkachuk, Lorenzo Lelli, Asia Matteazzi, Nicolai Gorodiskii, Lada Romanova, Filipa De Castro, Carlos Pinillos will take turns on the stage.
