Pallacanestro Trieste Has Officially Been Acquired By The American CGS

Pallacanestro Trieste announced the signing of the binding agreement for the transfer of the 90% of the company shares to the American group CSG (Cotogna Sports Group).

The agreement follows the due diligence carried out in the last six months by two law firms representing the parties, with an in-depth economic-financial and marketing analysis, which made evident the sporting value, the balance of the budget and the potential on the European basketball market of Pallacanestro Trieste.

“We’ve created a group that has been going strong for years. We have the youngest coach in Serie A, and we’ve been chosen by a young American group who chose Trieste. What can we be more proud of?” opened the press conference now former president Mario Ghiacci. “I’ve been in sport for the past 55 years and I’ve been proud of everything we’ve done. We had the luck of having Richard De Meo in Italy this past July who met us, met the young coach and we gave him all of the information he needed to make the right decision. 156 pages were signed on 29 December. I am no longer the president but the general manager of basket. Our president is now officially Richard De Meo.”

“From our point it few, we are really excited to be here. We are trying to take on science driven approach but it was the city of Trieste that made the difference,” sadi De Meo. “It’s a long-term project we’ve given a lot of reason for confidence, that includes Legovich who made us very excited. Our goal is to make it to the European competition in the next few years. Sponsorship plays a big part in the project to become self-sustaining. Any capital we have to invest we want to invest in building the future.”

“We want to be a part of the community as much as possible, we want to bring the audience back to the stadium,” added Fitzann Reid. “We’ll making sure, once we have the budget to do so, to create the magnet and a lighthouse for younger basketball fans.”

“We have a grand opportunity here in Trieste. They are young and motivated, and it’s a great opportunity. It makes us think differently and act differently,” added Ghiacci enthusiastically.

“All the games we’re watching, we’re not used to silence during half time,” added Prab Sekhon. “We don’t want to disrespect the culture. What we want to understand if we can add show to the show.”

“We want to be a magnet for players to come from all over the world knowing that the next step is NBA,” with these words the newly appointed president of Pallacanestro Trieste, Richard De Meo, finished the press conference tp the round of applause.
