The Civil Protection (Protezione Civile) has issued a severe weather forecast in Trieste and Carso areas, putting our region in code yellow (codice giallo) until 3 pm on Monday, 23 January, as bora winds are expected to reach 120 km/h during the day.
The strong Bora winds caused over 40 calls to civil protection during Sunday afternoon, as reports Il Piccolo, and the winds are expected to get stronger by Monday.

In the past bora was much faster and blew for much longer periods of time as per this video shot in the center of Trieste in 1953 on one of those days when bora was in the forecast.
