The newly appointed Prefect of Trieste, Pietro Signoriello, received the Consul General of the United States of America in Milan, Robert Needham this Wednesday morning, 25 January.
The consul congratulated the Prefect on the beginning of his mandate in the city. During the courtesy visit, the consolidated friendship relations between the two countries and the historical ties with the United States that distinguish the history of this territory were underlined.
The Prefect and the Consul General also discussed the effects of migration and the war in Ukraine. In this regard, the Consul General expressed his appreciation for the closeness and support that the local population has shown towards the Ukrainian refugees. The opportunities of the territory for an even more fruitful and effective collaboration between the two countries were also underlined, also with reference to economic and cultural profiles.
