The public attended the much awaited performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Macbeth”, conducted by Fabrizio Maria Carminati and directed by Henning Brockhaus on Friday, 27 January.
A new production of the Teatro Verdi that sees among the leading actors Giovanni Meoni in the role of Macbeth, Silvia Dalla Benedetta as Lady Macbeth, and the tenor Antonio Poli as Macduff.
‘Macbeth’ is an operatic drama in four acts with Teatro Verdi’s Orchestra and Chorus. From the choice of painted masks that allude to the hollowness of the main characters, to the a capella in the first act, the opera, which finished around midnight, had no weak minute and captivated the listeners from the beginning to the end.
Trieste’s Verdi theater was packed full of well-dressed Triestini and visitors eager to enjoy the staple of Triestine opera season.
Verdi’s masterwork is renowned for its celebrated melodies and unforgettable characters, and you can see it today, Saturday, 28 January at 8.30 pm and Sunday, 29 January, at 4 pm.
