The Maria Theresa Thaler was inaugurated this afternoon, 7 February, in Piazza Ponterosso in Trieste.
“It’s an important day because many Triestini love Maria Theresa and many took part in creating this monument in her honor,” added regional councilor for culture, Tiziana Gibelli.
“It’s connected to our past and present. We are happy to see it,” one of the locals in the audience told us.
“It’s an important day because even though Maria Theresa had never been to Trieste,” added Adesso Trieste’s Riccardo Laterza, “she has has a huge impact on our city and its life.”
