InTrieste’s founding editor, Maria Kochetkova, received the ‘Spiga di Grano’ award during the annual ‘Gran Galà di Primavera’ ceremony which took place on Thursday, 23 March in the magnificent Sala Piccola Fenice.

The “Gran Galà di Primavera” is the yearly date of the Cultural Association Onlus “Cinzia Vitale”, which takes place at the Villa Italia in Trieste. A special occasion where colors and flavors are the main characters of an elegant soiree, during which the “Cinzia Vitale Prize” is assigned to a citizen, either a man or a woman, who has distinguished him – or herself in his/her professional field. Every year – with the awakening of nature and the spring explosion of colors, which will culminate in the Summer Solstice – the Association wants to take stock and present the activities, which has been lead during the last year.

The evening not only welcomes the new spring fruits of the earth but hosts personalities from the institutional world, the entrepreneurial one and from the social field, who chose to support and share the mission of the Association. During the event, the “Nelson Mandela” Scholarship for Peace is also assigned to the students of the Adriatic United World College, together with the Certificates of Merit of the Vitale Onlus.

During the “Gran Galà di Primavera” on Thursday, 23 March, InTrieste’s founding editor, Maria Kochetkova, received the “Spiga di Grano” award, that stated:

“Creator of the online group 'Expats in Trieste' and founder of the homonymous start-up which aims to help foreigners move to Trieste, she knew how to be enterprising and farsighted by giving life to the online magazine InTrieste which, from a simple source of English language, has quickly become a valuable source of news on the city of Trieste on a global level".

The award was given to Ms. Kochetkova by the head of Trieste’s Questura, Pietro Ostuni.

“I dedicate this award to our wonderful team of the InTrieste magazine,” commented Kochetkova. “From writers, to photographers to illustrators, they make InTrieste a magnificent piece of art it is today, as well as an essential part of many people’s lives. Thank you!”

The “Gran Galà di Primavera” benefits from the High Patronage of the Chamber of Deputies.
