Want to know what bottle of wine to bring to your next dinner party? Always wanted to brush up on your wine knowledge? The Amber wine festival at Castello di San Giusto will see you leave feeling like a connoisseur.
Taking place on Sunday 21 May and Monday 22 May, the annual festival returns this 2023 and it’s set to be their biggest and best line-up of events yet. Here’s why you’ll want to be part of Trieste’s Amber wine festival.
The Amber Wine Festival is an extensive presentation of sustainably produced white macerated (orange) wines. “The excellence meets Trieste is our new slogan,” said the organizers. “The excellence that we have in this territory is a privilege. These wines have traveled all over the world. Our goal is to promote the territory through its excellence. Our luck is that amber wine is not connected to a grape variety, but to a way of producing wines.“ More than 40 producers from 4 countries and only one wine: the Amber. From the Karst to the Collio, from Istria to Austria.
Alongside all of the wine action, there’ll be plenty of foodie stops. Think artisan food stands including cheese and charcuterie. “Alongside chosen wine producers, at the Festival, we carefully selected culinary specialties to accompany the wines as an expression of the food and enological richness of the area, reinterpreted for the occasion by established chefs.“
Ticket costs 50 euro and it offers wine tasting of 20 wines of all regions + 5 food tickets. More info here: http://www.amberwinefestival.com/
