Trieste’s Pallacanestro team lost in a neck-and-neck battle in the last game of the regular season of the national basketball championship of Lega A this past Sunday, 7 May.
Incredible championship epilogue for the Trieste Basketball as Coach Marco Legovich’s team failed to conquer the Brindisi team which resulted in their relegation to Seria A2.
The Trieste’s team would have been saved (remained in seria A, top league) with one success, or in the event of a knockout, relegated with three contemporary victories of Naples, Reggio Emilia and Scafati, and the latter punctually occurred.
The team’s owners, the Cotogna Sports Group, responded by saying “We must look forward with humility of those who have fallen. Learn from our mistakes. Get up and react. Today’s pain is tomorrow’s victory.”
