If the only constant is change, the festival dedicated to just that in Trieste, called the “Festival of Change” (festival del cambiamento) organized by the Chamber of Commerce, which took place in Gorizia (10 May) and Trieste (11 May), was of the highest relevance.

We interviewed the guests of honor to see what they thought on the importance of Artificial Intelligence in today’s world.

Francesca Romana Saule, Head of Europe Growth Hub at BAT

“Everybody’s talking about AI, companies are investing even more than researchers at big universities. Considering that it’s embracing every aspect of our lives, companies should get there very quick.”

Andrea Romanino, director of SISSA

“AI starts to affect the way we conceive lectures, exams. Nowadays chat Gpt can answer essentially any question so you want to get back from online exams to in-presence, for example. There’s an ethical question about using these tools and declaring the use of these tools in research.”

Riccardo Illy, entrepreneur, former mayor of Trieste and former president of FVG

“I think AI will help to automatize the simple brain activities, not the complex ones.”

“I think there’s a lot of fear right now and I think when we will better understand how it works and when we’ll have some regulation about AI, it will be better.”
