Part of the Scienza e Virgola festival (www.scienzaevirgola.it) organized by SISSA, the event “Physics: What’s Left To Be Discovered” with physicists David J. Gross, Nobel Laureate in 2004, and Giorgio Parisi, Nobel Laureate in 2021, will take place on Wednesday, May 24 at 5 p.m. at Teatro Miela in Trieste.
The event is organized in collaboration with ICTP – International Center for Theoretical Physics “Abdus Salam”.
In their dialogue, the two scientists will talk about the present and future of research, exploring the new frontiers of knowledge and the relationship of science and society.
On the one hand a theory for the entire Universe, on the other the complexity of nature. On the one hand, an effort to describe all the fundamental forces in a unified framework, on the other, an awareness that randomness and disorder characterize reality at every level, from atoms to planets.
Two complementary perspectives on what physics is able to tell us today about the intimate nature of matter, space and time and what we can expect in the coming years.
Two profound and exceptional looks from two Nobel laureates in Physics in dialogue with each other about the boundaries, whether they exist or not, of what science can investigate.
The event is open to the public upon reservation on the Scienza e Virgola Website, starting from, May 10. Italian and English translation will be available.
