Friuli Venezia Giulia: Lignano and Grado Awarded Blue Flag Beaches

Ligano and Grado’s beaches in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region have been awarded the 2023 bandiera blu (Blue flag) status for high water quality standards.

The Blue Flag beaches in Friuli Venezia Giulia are Grado (Principale, Costa Azzurra, Pineta) and Lignano Sabbiadoro (Lido). In 2022 the Blue Flag Beaches status recieved the Portopiccolo Marina (Sistiana), Marina Punta Faro Resort, Porto Turistico Marina Uno, Marina Punta Verde and Darsena Porto Vecchio Lignano Sabbiadoro, Darsena Aprilia Marittima, Marina Punta Gabbiani and Marina Capo Nord – Cantieri di Aprilia, Marina Sant’Andrea in San Giorgio di Nogaro, Marina Hannibal in Monfalcone, Porto San Vito Grado and Lega Navale Italiana Sezione di Trieste.

The recognition comes from the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which assigns the flags to beaches with “excellent” water quality.
