September 5 to 12 Trieste will host “Il Faro della Musica” festival briniging world famous artists to the city’s stage.
The concerts are part of the identity of Trieste and this festival will be launched with many cultural options on the menu celebrating tradition, instruction, improvisation, as well as Spanish guitar, and more.
Jordi Savall together with the Hespèrion XXI ensemble, Maxim Vengerov, Polina Oestinskaya, Antonio Meneses, Hartmut Haenchen, Angela Hewitt, and The Orchestra of the Foundation Lyrical Theater Verdi of Trieste, the Eos quartet, and many other interpreters will play in various venues of the city.
“The idea when we started working two years ago was to create a new festival that can show, not only to the city, but to the country, what the city of Trieste is and who the local artists are,” said Marco Roso, artistic director of The Society of Concerts of Trieste. The Municipality and the Society of Concerts of the city have made this possible, besides the contribution of the Verdi theater of Trieste.
The festival was born as an artistic proposal supported by more than ninety-year tradition of the city. The shows will see the special participation of the cellist Antonio Meneses on Saturday September 9, who will perform in the concert of Shumann as a soloist. Another interesting highlight is the so-called “path” interlude, this year dedicated to Mozart, chosen to be part of the final concert by the pianist Angela Hewitt, on 8 and 10 September.
Trieste is indeed working hard to be called, very soon, the musical city. Every summer surprises locals and tourists alike with new events, and festivals to enjoy as part of the cultural and social offer and 2023 is not an exception. With that in mind, the concert of the group Norah Moss and the Cats will take place in the famous Antico Caffè San Marco with the possibility of having dinner after the show.
