Twenty years after the first Trieste edition of the concert at dawn, Heliossea XX comes back to Trieste on Sunday, September 3 at 5.33 am, with the mesmerizing backdrop of the Miramare castle.
The initiative is promoted by Alessandro Grego from Trieste, composer of the musical score and programmer of the electronic and computer music.
The show celebrates the rising sun. The magic starts with the fusion of music and science, that emerges from the darkness of the night until the dawn, for about one hour.
The event was created to honor the memory of Margherita Hack, since her death 10 years ago. Hack was a beloved astrophysicist who welcomed the Heliossea project with a huge enthusiasm.
Heliossea is the data converted into sound. Results are possible with the analysis of light when it passes from darkness to lightness. This time, the information will also be collected from the NASA satellites monitoring.
What’s going to happen is the shades and translation of colors and light will influence the sound that will be played by performer.
“The Miramare Castle Park is also a destination for entertainment- said the director Andreina Contessa – with initiatives of various kinds that, in the summer, the affectionate public can follow throughout the day, with the shows at dawn followed in particular by a very young audience. We are therefore very happy to host the Heliossea XX project.”
The 55 minute show is going to be unorthodox in a way that it will mostly be an interpretation of the sounds.
Musician Roberto Fabbriciani will take center stage, a Tuscan flutist among the greatest interpreters of the contemporary music, with a career studding with stellar collaborations, from Cage, to Morricone, Rota and Stockhausen, Pousseur, Ferneyhough, Kurtág, Nono…
The seats are free, and so is the location of those. Everyone can sit where they choose. Admission to the event (from 5.00 am starting at 5.33 on September 3, 2023) are free but you need to RSVP here.
Breakfast will be offered to all participants.
