The MSC Nicola Mastro is the first 24,000 TEUs container ship to touch an Italian gateway. The new vessel has been officially christened today, 4 September in Trieste.
The dimensions of this record-breaking ship far exceed those of all other ships typically moored in Trieste. This achievement is the result of the terminal’s ability to perfectly address all operational needs and confirms the competitive factors of the “Trieste System” that provides exceptional service for all vessels.
An “MSC Nicola Mastro” is an Ultra Large Container Vessel (ULCV) flying the Liberian flag. The Port Authority specified that it is the largest ship ever arrived at the Trieste port. There are many citizens and tourists present along the Rive and Porto Nuovo intrigued by the size of the ship.
For the entry of the container ship into the Port of Trieste, the Coast Guard has employed means providing a security framework guaranteeing the perfect execution of the mooring maneuver, coordinated by the contribution of the Technical Nautical Services (Pilots, Tugboats and Mooring workers) .
