There’s nothing a Friuli Venezia Giulia book lover awaits most than the PordenoneLegge annual festival, which brings authors, journalists and critics from around the world to talk about all things culture, this year from 13 to 17 September, downton Pordenone.
Now one of Italy’s leading cultural events, PordenoneLegge will bring to life the squares of Pordenone with the Festa del Libro con gli Autori (Literature Festival with Authors), from 13th to 17th September 2023.
Now in its 24th edition, PordenoneLegge “examines our time with the awareness that culture, the exchange of information and stories are the tools that humanity has always had to alleviate fears and cultivate hope, all the more so in the times of a pandemic”.
Curated by Gian Mario Villalta (Artistic Director), Alberto Garlini and Valentina Gasparet, and promoted by the Fondazione Pordenonelegge.it, the festival is part of the vast cultural program hosted by this city in Friuli Venezia Giulia throughout the year.
It features world premieres of brand-new publications by Italian and international authors, cult authors from the world of modern literature and philosophy who will explore the themes of culture, beauty and hope, with a focus on the world and current affairs.
“The city of poetry” becomes a“festival within a festival”: a standout space to experience this vocation together with the most prominent names on the contemporary scene.
This unmissable event involves the entire city. A great number of “Angels”, the young and professional volunteers called upon to assist the public with any need, will be the welcoming embrace of a city painted, for the occasion, in the event colors, yellow and blue.
