After the great success of the first weekend, the Renaissance arts and crafts tradition returns this Sunday, 17 and 23-24 of September at the San Giusto castle.
Workshops return to the Castle of San Giusto on the weekends of 16-17 and 23-24 September where you’ll be able to discover the arts and traditions of the Renaissance between woodcut, creation of felt jewelry and weaving.
The event is organized by the Municipality of Trieste and curated by the Pro Loco Association.
In a fairytale-like atmosphere visitors will have the possibility to learn and create small works of art and crafts inspired by the Renaissance.
The courses range from woodcut and weaving to jewelry creation. Participants will be able to take home the artifacts they made. In addition, on the same days, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, actors in period costumes will populate the Castle welcoming guests and providing information on the services present within the museum site.
The workshop will be held with the artist Marija Pudane, who will explain how to prepare a loom and the weave for weaving, while visitors will make an object of linen or other yarn. Time: 12:30 –2:00 pm; 4:30 pm – 6 pm
If coloring is more your thing, you should join Luca Mingolla’s workshop. There you’ll be able to do a print that resembles heraldic symbols in Italian houses with different materials, personalized, and perhaps even double coloring. Time: 10:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.; 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Manual techniques are all about Barbara Girardi’s course. A wool jewel will be made with small metal objects. Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
