Friuli Venezia Giulia allocates 23.5 million annually for the academic system of Friuli Venezia Giulia, from kindergarten to high school, and places emphasis on the minority languages, including Friulian and German.

Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has been allocating 23.5 million euro annually for the regional academic school system, which consist of direct interventions on the organizational system with the aim of having an all-inclusive education, with a strong focus on multilingualism, as well as the continuous school digitalization.

This was announced by the regional councilor for Education Alessia Rosolen in a press conference in Trieste with the director of the regional school office, Daniela Beltrame. Among other topics, the multilinguism of the region was at the forefront with German being one of the minority languages to be taught at schools across the region.

250000 euro of the said funds are being allocated to schools with students who have immigration background, wether first or second generation, as well as schools with kids with special needs.

Beltrame: “At times we need to make decisions not based on the lack of funds, but on the lack of qualified personnel. There’s a huge request to have German language in our schools and to introduce the language from elementary school on, and we are convinced that teachers of German language are essential for the kids, especially in certain parts of FVG. I would also like to thank the region for the attention given to the kids with immigration background as we know sometimes the families don’t have the necessary instruments to propel the students forward, and that’s when schools comes in.”
