Trieste’s cable car prototype was presented this Thursday afternoon, 28 September, in piazza Borsa by the city hall.

As the mayor of Trieste, supported by his top team, was presenting the cable car prototype some 30 protesters chanted “No Ovovia” (No Cable Car).

The group of demonstrators – about thirty citizens opposed to the cable car – held posters and flyers that read “no cable car”.

“This is an innovation for the city,” Giulio Bernetti from the Trieste administration told us.

“They are going to cut down trees and call it a green economy,” one of the protestors chimed in.

There was an impressive deployment of law enforcement, police and carabinieri on site.
