Friuli Venezia Giulia’s governor Massimiliano Fedriga met US President Joe Biden during an annual gala event organized by the National Italian American Foundation in Washington D.C. at the beginning of the month, where the region of FVG was announced the “Region of Honor” in 2024, with the aim of strengthening the bond between Italy and U.S.
NIAF’s Region of Honor program partners with one of Italy’s 20 regions every year, and is a marketing opportunity for a region to showcase its history, landmarks, natural resources, artisans, industries, cuisine and culture in an effort to promote tourism and economic development as well as to highlight the region’s businesses and entrepreneurs on the international. In 2024 this opportunity will be give to Friuli Venezia Giulia.
