The exhibition dedicated to the genius of Antonio Ligabue, has been inaugurated on 7 November at Revoltella Museum in Trieste, and will remain open until 18 February 2024.
On show there are more than seventy paintings, ten works on paper and seven sculptures; the exhibition will offer a historical and critical interpretation of the work of the Italian-Swiss artist, still today one of the most interesting personalities of 900 art.
The path of the exhibition develops the creative universe of Ligabue: the relationship with the self-portrait, the wild and domestic animals, the work of the fields.
He is defined as a dreamer who has never stopped traveling, armed only with the power of his imagination. For the first time, about forty original documents dedicated to the biographical story of Antonio Ligabue will be visible to the public.
“I’ve been waiting for a long time to have this exhibition in Trieste,” commented city councilor for culture, Giorgio Rossi.
“This is a very complete exhibition that will take you on a journey through Ligabue’s art and life,” added the curator of the exhibition, Francesca Villanti.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Sunday, 9 am – 7 pm (Tuesday closed). Tickets cost from 15 euro.
