The forum dedicated to life sciences which concluded on Thursday in Trieste was the first event supported by region that represented an important incentive for development and innovation in our territory.

“Many regional tenders were present in Porto Vecchio to support businesses, innovative ideas and startups, financed with the amount of 30 million euro with the scope of building networks that can overcome the boundaries of region, enhance existing resources and attract businesses that help our system become even stronger,” said the regional councilor for Research Alessia Rosolen at the end of the event “Promoting innovation in Life Sciences – Friuli Venezia Giulia, The place to be”, which took place at the Trieste Convention Center 8-9 November.

More than 700 participants – among them students, researchers, entrepreneurs and representatives of the scientific world – took part in seminars and workshops in the two days organized by the Fvg Life Sciences Cluster – Andrea Galvani Northern Adriatic Technological Pole.

Councilor Rosolen highlighted the leap in quality made by the regional research system over the last 20 years. “From a fragmented world, jealous of small skills and not very open, we have moved on to an overall vision that demonstrates how to work in synergy that leads to achieving greater results,” stated Rosolen. “What has been done in recent years allows us to start with the innovation programs indicated by the European Union which are effective thanks to the coordinated action of those who study and work in research, and those who develop new technologies and tools”.

In the context of the so-called innovation ecosystems, that is collaboration between multiple regions for the creation of new projects, Friuli Venezia Giulia maintains an important role confirming its position as a strong innovator in 2023. “We will continue to use the resources we have,” continued Rosolen, “with the intention of making a difference in the quality of life of our citizens.”
