In a groundbreaking ceremony today in Monfalcone, the Star Princess, the second LNG-powered cruise ship in the Sphere Class for Princess Cruises, set sail on its construction journey. Princess Cruises, a prominent brand under the Carnival Corporation umbrella, already boasts the first of its kind, the Sun Princess.

Fueling this maritime marvel is liquefied natural gas (LNG), recognized as the cleanest marine fuel currently dominating the market. Both the Sun Princess and the Star Princess are equipped with dual-fuel capabilities, positioning them as eco-friendly titans in the cruise ship domain.

Anticipated to host a whopping 4,300 guests, the Star Princess mirrors the innovative design of its predecessor, the Sun Princess, built on a cutting-edge platform that signals the future of cruise ship architecture.

The Sun Princess is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2024, while eager enthusiasts will have to wait until 2025 to set sail on the Star Princess. Princess Cruises, a global leader in the cruise line and tour industry, continues to push the boundaries with a current fleet of 15 modern cruise vessels, solidifying its position at the forefront of international maritime travel.
