Piazza Unità d’Italia is set to host a New Year’s Eve celebration featuring a musical show and fireworks, promising an evening of entertainment for all attendees. The event will take place from 10:30 PM to 1:30 AM.
The musical spectacle, titled “Magic Moments,” will be presented by Pregi Srl, known for organizing the annual “Ceghedaccio” event. The show will commence on Wednesday, December 27, with the setup of a large covered stage in front of the fountain, facing the sea. This stage will feature audio, video, and lighting systems for an enhanced experience. The chosen theme for the musical performance is “Magic Moments,” inspired by Perry Como’s 1957 song written by Bart Bacharah and Hal David.
The schedule starts at 10:30 PM with DJs Renato Pontoni and Kriss Simon providing music and entertainment. Following at 11:00 PM, the “Divina Live” band from Turin will showcase popular hits from various decades, ensuring a diverse selection for the audience. Throughout the night, hosts Andro Merkù and Martina Riva, a journalist and presenter, will guide the proceedings.
Just before midnight, Merkù and Riva will lead the countdown with the audience. At the stroke of the new year, institutional authorities will be introduced, offering traditional wishes to the city. The arrival of 2024 will be marked by the timeless waltz “On the Beautiful Blue Danube” by Johann Strauss, setting the stage for a fireworks display from Molo Audace, managed by the Parente Fireworks Group.
Following the twenty-minute fireworks show, the night will continue with the second part of the live music performance in Piazza Unità, featuring music and special effects. “Divina Live” will entertain the audience until 1:30 AM, followed by DJs Renato Pontoni and Kriss Simon playing a selection of hits from various artists.
For those planning to attend, access to Piazza Unità will be through specified entry points after site clearance operations by law enforcement. Various traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect. Attendees are advised to check official guidelines for a smooth experience.
