In a spectacular New Year’s celebration, Deloris Van Cartier will light up the Rossetti theater from December 30 to January 1 with ‘Sister Act – The Musical.’ Directed by Chiara Noschese and featuring the music of Alan Menken, the show promises an explosion of energy, music, and fun.

Deloris, played by the talented Gloria Enchill, leads a cast of seasoned performers in a musical extravaganza that guarantees an extraordinary start to the new year. The production, based on the 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg, boasts original music by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken.

Director Chiara Noschese emphasizes the timeless values of ‘Sister Act’ in today’s challenging times, highlighting themes of redemption, solidarity, community, dreams, acceptance, honesty, vocation, and tolerance. Noschese aims to reach the audience’s hearts through extraordinary music and a compelling story.

The plot follows Deloris Van Cartier, a spirited night singer who becomes an unwitting witness to a murder. Seeking to protect her, the police place her in a convent, forcing her to adapt to a lifestyle far removed from her usual habits. Despite the challenges, Deloris transforms the convent choir, comprised of well-meaning but musically challenged nuns, into a surprising musical sensation.

Catch the explosive performance on December 30 at 8:30 PM and a special New Year’s Eve show on December 31 at 9:30 PM, complete with a toast to ring in the new year. Additional shows include a matinee on December 31 at 4:00 PM and a New Year’s Day performance at 5:30 PM.

Tickets are available at the Politeama Rossetti box office and usual outlets of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Theatre. Don’t miss the chance to experience ‘Sister Act’ and dance into 2024 with the cast and memorable musical tunes.
