As the new year unfolds, a familiar wave of resolution-making sweeps across the Trieste landscape, with a recent poll indicating that approximately 37% of individuals engage in this annual ritual. However, statistical patterns show that the majority tend to relinquish their aspirations within a modest two-month time frame.
In an attempt to capture the diverse sentiments of the community, we took to the streets of downtown Trieste. The aim was to uncover the aspirations harbored by its residents for the year 2024. Engaging in open-ended conversations, we sought to explore the personal and collective goals that Trieste’s citizens envisioned for themselves and their city.
The city’s atmosphere became an arena where stories of determination and ambition played out. The narratives we encountered ranged from personal health objectives to community-focused initiatives, revealing a nuanced spectrum of hopes and intentions. These resolutions, articulated against the backdrop of daily life, reflect the collective desire for progress and renewal.
As we navigate the unfolding chapters of the coming months, the diverse resolutions articulated by the citizens of Trieste stand as markers of the ongoing human pursuit of growth and improvement, illustrating a city on the verge of potential transformation.
