Trieste’s Grand Finale: A Laugh-filled Farewell to Laurel & Hardy

Trieste’s House of Cinema announces the final lineup for screenings in the “Trieste Laughs with Laurel & Hardy” exhibition. The event, set to take place on Tuesday, January 9th, at the Miela Theater, marks the conclusion of an extraordinary series of screenings dedicated to the renowned comedy duo Laurel & Hardy.

The exhibition, which has captured the hearts of many enthusiasts, will remain open to the public until January 28th, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at the House of Cinema building on Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi 3. Screenings will be held at the Miela Bonawentura Theater, with free access for all spectators.

The “Trieste Laughs with Laurel & Hardy” exhibition is organized by the Trieste House of Cinema Association and curated by the “S.O.S. Stanlio and Ollio: Saving the Italian Versions of Laurel & Hardy Films” project in collaboration with the Cinematographic Institute of Aquila “La Lanterna Magica” and co-organized by the Municipality of Trieste.

The program for Tuesday, January 9th, kicks off with a special morning dedicated to schools, also open to the public, featuring the presentation of the project and restoration processes, followed by the screening of recovered and restored materials.

The evening continues with two unmissable shows: at 6:00 PM, “FOR A LITTLE EXTRA SNACK” (Be Big, Perfect Day, Night Owls, Oliver the Eighth – 1929/34), and at 8:00 PM, “MIDNIGHT PATROL” (The Midnight Patrol, Towed in a Hole, Hog Wild, Thicker Than Water – 1930/35). These screenings encapsulate the essence of the humor and comedic genius of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Trieste’s House of Cinema expresses gratitude to the audience and everyone who contributed to the success of the exhibition and the “Trieste Laughs with Laurel & Hardy” screening series.
