In a press conference held today, Thursday, December 11, in Trieste, opposition councilors in the Regional Council of Friuli Venezia Giulia reaffirmed their stance on the incompatibility of Assessor Sergio Emidio Bini.
They have introduced a motion scheduled for discussion in the upcoming sessions, emphasizing what they perceive as a clear conflict of interest between Bini’s responsibilities in the fields of Production Activities and Tourism and his role in the company Euro&Promos Spa.
Massimo Moretuzzo, the leader of the Autonomy Pact group, recalled that at the beginning of the legislative term, on May 31, an inquiry was submitted pointing out the incongruity of Bini’s position in the company Euro&Promos Spa. Moretuzzo highlighted the inappropriateness of holding such a position concurrently with that of an assessor. On June 6, another inquiry was presented by Roberto Cosolini (Pd), leading to a debate culminating in a vote of no confidence, which was ultimately rejected.
Moretuzzo explained that they have conducted document reviews and believe it is appropriate for President Fedriga to evaluate the current situation. While not making accusations or specific demands, Moretuzzo reiterated the existence of an evident conflict of interest and incompatibility that needs consideration regarding Bini’s responsibilities. Cosolini specified that “strong ties between the spa and other companies holding contracts on behalf of the Region” are apparent. Opposition members highlighted that the situation has become “untenable,” calling on President Fedriga to address it promptly.
