In an exciting collaboration, Artifragili joins forces with the G.O.A.P. Center for Anti-Violence in Trieste and the Miela Theater of Trieste to introduce a compelling theatrical production that aims to push boundaries and stimulate discussion.
Drawing inspiration from Susan Glaspell’s classic work, “A Jury of Her Peers,” this innovative production is scheduled to debut on February 23rd and 24th, 2024, at the Miela Theater. Following the success of their previous hit, “The Penelope Question,” this latest endeavor seeks to blend artistic creativity with an examination of gender disparity and its societal implications.
At its heart, the story unfolds within the confines of a grandmother’s home, where two young women grapple with the task of sorting through the remnants of the past. Amidst the artifacts of bygone days, they uncover clues that reveal a poignant tale of resilience amidst adversity. As they navigate their own identities and confront the legacies of the past, themes of sisterhood and solidarity emerge as powerful motifs.
This production serves not only as entertainment but also as a catalyst for reflection and dialogue. Through immersive storytelling and evocative staging, Artifragili aims to prompt audiences to consider pressing social issues. Every element of the production, from the performances of Romina Colbasso and Veronica Dariol to the original music by Davide Rossi, has been meticulously crafted to elicit an emotional response and encourage meaningful discourse.
As the curtain rises on this groundbreaking production, audiences are invited to engage with uncomfortable truths and challenge existing perspectives. In a world marked by division, “A Jury of Her Peers” offers a beacon of hope—a reminder that through empathy and solidarity, we can work towards a more equitable future.
