In a press conference held at Sala Giunta, the first Bavisela Carnival was introduced on Wednesday, scheduled for Sunday, February 4th.
Present at the event were Elisa Lodi, the Sports Policy Councillor; Sabrina Iogna, President of the Trieste Carnival; Roberto De Gioia, Honorary President of the Trieste Carnival; Emilio Porto, President of Apd Miramar; Omar Fanciullo, Secretary of Asd Trieste Athletics; Roberto Merkuza, Commercial Manager of TreeSport; and Paolo Rossi, representing Sports and Health.
Councillor Elisa Lodi stated, “The municipal administration has warmly embraced this new initiative, blending physical activity and leisure in a sports celebration open to all, including families, coursing through the city center streets concurrently with the Carnival’s inauguration.”
The inaugural Bavisela Carnival run, a non-competitive event suitable for all ages, follows in the footsteps of similar gatherings held at other times of the year. The previous Christmas Bavisela attracted 800 participants.
The run is set to commence at 10 a.m. on Sunday, February 4th, at Piazza Unità d’Italia. The route covers approximately four kilometers through the city center, concluding at the Giulia Shopping Center. Participants are encouraged to wear carnival masks, with a maximum of 300 individuals permitted. Additional information is available on the event’s official website (https://triestespringrun.com).
