Just a stone’s throw away from the starting gun of the 70th Muggia Carnival, the stage was set at the Carà Museum as Mayor Paolo Polidori, Carnival Deputy Mayor Nicola Delconte, and Carnival Companies President Mario Vascotto unveiled what promises to be an unforgettable extravaganza.

Spearheaded by the Municipality of Muggia and the Carnival Companies Association, and backed by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Ministry of Culture, the 2024 edition is primed to deliver a whirlwind of excitement.

The Main Event: The Grand Parade

The action kicks off on February 8th with the traditional opening ceremony at Marconi Square, climaxing on February 14th with the Carnival’s somber farewell. But the heart of the festivities beats on February 11th, when downtown Muggia transforms into a carnival spectacle. Expect to be dazzled by allegorical floats and a sea of masks, all brought to life by the Carnival Companies. The parade starts at 1:00 PM, with prime seating available online via Ticketpoint.

The Companies have already unveiled their themes for this milestone edition, promising a theatrical street performance like no other. And let’s not forget the godmother of the 70th edition, Francesca Vogrig.

Beyond the Parade: A Week of Festivities

But the fun doesn’t stop with the parade. The event calendar is packed with treats for all ages, from the long-awaited return of the Dolls’ Ball to musical aperitifs and the legendary mega-omelette.

Traffic Measures and More

As the city gears up for the festivities, traffic measures are in place to ensure smooth sailing for revelers. And thanks to PromoTurismoFvg, guided tours will showcase Muggia’s rich history and attractions.

Art & Carnival Exhibition

The Ugo Carà Modern Art Museum hosts an exhibition celebrating seven decades of Carnival in Muggia, featuring vintage posters and trophies crafted by renowned artists.

Luna Park and More

The Luna Park returns to Caliterna Square, promising thrills and spills for all. And let’s not forget the array of food stalls and the expanded Carnival village, offering a taste of local and international delights.

With so much on offer, the 70th Muggia Carnival is gearing up to be an event to remember.
