Generali and TCC-Trieste Convention Center have announced an agreement to rename the largest multifunctional congress center on the Northeastern coast, now known as Generali Convention Center Trieste.

This three-year partnership enhances Generali’s support for one of the primary activities within the Porto Vecchio, aiming to establish the center as an attractive venue for national and international conferences and events. It also continues Generali’s investments in Trieste, a city with significant growth potential, owing to its extensive network of esteemed scientific and academic institutions, as well as the increasing activity in the port system.

The announcement was made today during a press briefing attended by Generali’s Group CFO, Cristiano Borean, Group Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer, Simone Bemporad, and TCC’s President, Roberto Morelli. The agreement includes the introduction of a new coordinated image, featuring signage displaying the center’s name on its buildings, and the placement of new signage in the area to facilitate visitors’ navigation.

Generali holds a 49% stake in the Convention Center, along with partners such as illycaffè (13%), Biovalley (8%), and sixty other shareholders holding small stakes of up to 2% each. The center, located in Trieste’s Porto Vecchio, now Porto Vivo, comprises two buildings, warehouses 27 and 28, housing the Generali Auditorium with 1920 seats, 5 meeting rooms, a cafeteria, a terrace overlooking the sea, and 5,000 square meters of exhibition space, totaling 10,000 square meters.

Simone Bemporad, Group Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer and spokesperson for Generali, stated, “Generali, as one of the leading global players in insurance and asset management, supports Trieste’s role as a bridge between Mediterranean and Eastern European communities. This partnership with the Trieste Convention Center, now Generali Convention Center Trieste, aligns with our commitment to strengthening the center’s role as an internationally attractive congress and exhibition destination, while simultaneously supporting the city’s economy.”

Roberto Morelli, President of the Trieste Convention Center, remarked, “We are proud to announce this agreement with Generali, one of our key shareholders and a global leader in insurance and asset management. We share with Generali a deep connection to our hometown of Trieste, as well as a commitment to excellence, customer-centric services, innovation, and future-oriented perspectives. This partnership further enhances Trieste’s positioning as an international congress and tourist destination, and underscores the significant economic impact of conference and exhibition events on the region. Associating with a prestigious brand like Generali is a source of pride for us and a lever to enhance the attractiveness of our offering. It could be a fundamental driver for the recovery of the Porto Vecchio and the area’s ability to attract excellent initiatives.”
